UNESCO staff in Cambodia visited a natural history museum near the Preah Vihear Temple on Monday.
Some 20 delegates of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, based in Cambodia visited a natural history museum in the vicinity of the Preah Vihear Temple on Monday in preparation for drafting a plan for artifact preservation at the museum.
The preservation plan aims to pave the way for the conservation and development of the ancient temple's vicinity.
The UNESCO team was led by cultural program specialists Phillip Delanghe and Christiane Garnero Morena.
They were welcomed by Cambodian officials, including secretary general of the Culture and Fine Arts Ministry, deputy secretary general of the Prime Minister's Office and representatives of the Preah Vihear National Authority.
The visit was intended to inspect the location of the museum and to gather information for the UN body to make suggestions on its administration.
The UNESCO staff went on to discuss the Preah Vihear Temple development plan in Siem Reap Province on the following day.
