The participation occurs at the mean time that Cambodian and Thailand troops are still confronting over the border dispute.
"The participation is a part of international peacekeeping operations under the framework of the United Nations -- 15 countries will attend the upcoming exercise," he told Xinhua by telephone. "It has nothing relevant to the two countries' border conflict."
Among the 51 Cambodian soldiers, 47 will depart for Thailand on June 13 for Field Training Exercise and the other 4 will leave on June 19 for Command Post Exercise.
Cambodia and Thailand have border conflict just a week after Cambodia's Preah Vihear temple was enlisted as a World Heritage Site on July 7, 2008.
Since then, both sides have built up military forces along the border and periodic clashes have happened, resulting in the deaths of troops and civilians on both sides.
