Cambodia insists it will not withdraw the Preah Vihear case from the World Court as bilateral talks with Thailand have failed.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stated Phnom Penh will not retract its legal interpretation request filed with the International Court of Justice, or ICJ, over the court's 1962 verdict on the Preah Vihear Temple at any cost.
Xinhua news agency quoted Hun Sen as stressing he will not withdraw the case even with the change of the Thai government and will only let the court go ahead with the hearing.
Caretaker Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on June 5 that Cambodia should drop the case and turn to the negotiation table with Thailand.
He also urged Cambodia to stop its attempt on the Preah Vihear management plan and instead implement a joint development plan with Thailand.
Hun Sen insisted the suggested plan is unlikely, adding Cambodia has no idea about the overlapping territory and does not know where the 4.6-square kilometer area is situated.
The Cambodian premier asserted it is impossible to return to the negotiation table as the issue has reached the United Nations, ASEAN and the World Court.
