Mondulkiri, the nature view

Phnong Tribe
This post I'll talk a bout another province of Cambodia. It's a beautiful and colorful of nature. Mondulkiri province is the most landscapeful part of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It really is another  Cambodia altogether, with scenery and a climate quite unlike anywhere else in the country. It can quite chilly at night, so make sure you bring somthing warm when you visit there. It is the most sparsely populated province in Cambodia and almost half of 30,000 inhabitants come from the Phnong minority group. Sen Monorom is the capital town, have population of about 21% of total population.

This province is the land of mountans and primary rainforest, and home to several hill tribes. Mondulkiri is the largest province  of Cambodia, 80% of population belongs to tribal minorities with the majority of them being Phnong. In the town language, Phnong mean mountain tribe or " people of the mountain" 10 different ethnic groups, all with varying languages, trditions, and make up of tribal minorities.

The remaining 20 percent of Mondulkiri's population are a mixture of Khmer, Chinese, and Cham Muslim. People live mainly off the land , planting dry rice, fruits, and a variety of crops and vegetables. What you will see when you get there? Umm, Mondulkiri's high elevation ensures a cool climate and equitable rain. So the government is encouraging the planting of strawberies, coffee, ruber trees, and cashew nuts.

Busra Waterfall

Bou Sra Water Fall, Mondulkiri
Bou Sra Water Fall, Mondulkiri
Busra is a fascinating waterfall, Busra provides a picturesque fresh air. it is located in Pich Chenda district about 30 km from the Sen Monorom Town of Mondulkiri province. Mondulkiri is 543 km northeast of Phnom Penh. Bou Sra is the most beautiful waterfall in Mondulkiri and shared into three stages. This double drop waterfall is an unforgiving journey of 37km from the capital town, Sen Monorom, but it quite impressive, the upper tier dropping some 20m and lower tier dropping 40km. To get to the bottom of the lower tier, you have to cross the river and take a left further down the track. This the Phnong of Pich Chenda where you can pick some basic foods and fruits you like.

Sound great, right ??? Visit now or book a flight if you are foreigner :D
