Cambodia's PM hopes next Thai government to resolve disputes with neighbours

May 19, 2011 (BBC Monitoring via COMTEX) -- AKP Phnom Penh, May 19, 2011 -Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen hoped that the upcoming Thai government will be able to solve its internal problem, not bring dispute to outside and desire to solve dispute with neighbouring countries by peaceful means.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen made the comments, while presiding over a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a China-funded National Road No 41 held on May 18 in Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province.

The Cambodian premier also elaborated on a bad trick played by Thailand in aggressive acts over Cambodian territorial integrity.

If Thailand treats Cambodia as a friend, so Thailand should not make armed disputes with Cambodia, and we should solve the problem by peaceful means, he said.

The inauguration ceremony for the road construction was attended by top government officials, foreign ambassadors to Cambodia, and local residents and students.
